Journal of Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology
Journal of Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology (JEPT) is an international peer-reviewed journal, published quaterly in English under the aegis of ”Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Timișoara, Romania.
Journal of Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology publishes high quality original research articles, review and mini-review articles, and clinical case reports on current advances in life sciences, in pharmaceutical sciences, in preclinical and clinical pharmacology and toxicology, and related disciplines.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
The articles are published for free, without any processing charges. All the costs for articles’ publication are supported by the ”Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Timișoara, Romania.
Publication timeframe
The manuscripts are subjected to a peer-review process and the first decision is notified to the authors in approximatively 25 days after submission; average publication time since online submission to website publication is 45 days.

Journal of Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology (JEPT) is a quarterly peer-reviewed journal, in English, that welcomes high quality original research articles, review and mini-review articles, and clinical case reports on current advances in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, in preclinical and clinical pharmacology and toxicology, and related disciplines.

The pivotal goal of the journal is to actively contribute to the advancements in life sciences, mainly in pharmaceutical and medical fields by adopting a multidisciplinary approach. Publishing cutting-edge findings and new developments, the journal aims to connect the basic/experimental research with the clinical practice.

The main areas of research that Journal of Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology (JEPT) is interested are:

A. Pharmaceutical sciences (pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical technology and analysis, medicinal chemistry, pharmacognosy, natural products, drug delivery)

B. Basic and clinical pharmacology (pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, drug mechanisms, pathological mechanisms involved in cancer and other diseases, biomarkers, enzymes, drug metabolism, pharmacogenetics and personalized medicine)

C. Toxicology (mechanistic toxicology, in vitro, in vivo, computational and predictive toxicity methods, toxicity of natural products, nanoparticles and pharmaceuticals, adverse effects of xenobiotics, pharmacovigilance, toxicokinetics, novel techniques for the assessment of toxicity, drug-drug interactions)

D. Drug discovery and development (drug design, development of novel pharmaceutical compounds, target identification and validation, new chemical entities, natural compounds, preclinical and clinical pharmacological and toxicological screening, pathological in vitro and in vivo models, drug delivery, pharmaceutical formulation).

Manuscripts focusing on the following topics are particularly encouraged:

  1. Cancer research: new models of disease and approaches to drug discovery; translational research
  2. Chemoprevention and chemotherapeutic studies
  3. Toxicology studies: in vitro, in vivo, computational and predictive toxicology
  4. Mechanisms underlying toxicity induced by xenobiotics (pharmaceutical, natural products, chemicals, nanoparticles, etc)
  5. Clinical case reports describing exposure to toxins
  6. Pharmacological and toxicological investigations of novel pharmaceutical entities, drug delivery platforms, nanomedicines
  7. Investigations into drug efficacy and safety within clinical settings, including clinical trials and observational studies to understand pharmacological outcomes in diverse patient populations
  8. Drug targeting analysis.

We place no restriction on the length of submitted manuscripts and require full disclosure of experimental methods to ensure reproducibility of results. Key features of this journal include:

  • Acceptance of manuscripts focused on innovative research proposals and novel research concepts.
  • Optional inclusion of supplementary files with comprehensive procedural data, especially if detailed methods cannot be fully covered in the Materials and Methods section.
  • Welcoming broader, accessible submissions on research projects funded by public sources to enhance knowledge dissemination.
